Flat / Hot Rolled

Flat steel products are obtained by heating semi-finished products with a rectangular cross-section (slab), which are produced by the continuous casting method, to a specific temperature and then rolling them, with thicknesses ranging from 1.40 to 25.40 mm and widths ranging from 700 to 2025 mm, produceed as coil or by cutting/slit-coiling flat steel products from coils.

  1. Max carbon equivalent (CE) is increased by 0.01 % for Si ≤ 0.25%, and 0.02 % for Si ≤ 0.04 %
  2. The maximum value for nitrogen does not apply if the chemical composition shows a minimum total aluminium content of 0.020%. Minimum aluminium to nitrogen ratio is 2:1.
  3. Carbon equivalent, CEV (IIW) % = C + Mn / 6 + (Cr + Mo + V) / 5 + (Ni + Cu) / 15
  4. If Cu %: 0.25-0.40, max carbon equivalent (CEV) is increased 0.02 % within the framework of agreements with customers.
  5. Could be normalized or equivalent to normalized rolling.
