What is CNC? Where to use?

CNC is short for Computer Numerical Control. It is a cutting method used in cutting and shaping hard materials. It is called a plane CNC machine, consisting of a table and a cutting head, installed on a workbench. CNC Cutting companies, which can perform quite comprehensive operations compared to the lathe, which is a primitive example, know how to form Sheet, Iron, Steel, Aluminum, Wood, Plexi and similar planes.

Different technologies are used in CNC cutting processes. In addition to standard CNC, CNC Plasma cutting, CNC Oxygen Cutting, CNC Laser Cutting technologies can be preferred according to the nature and requirements of the job.

CNC Oxygen Cutting is the most widely used cutting process. After the metal material is heated to the ignition temperature with high heat obtained by burning a combustible gas with oxygen, the heated zone is cut with a pure oxygen gas jet. As a result of the exothermic reaction between the oxygen and the heated metal region, the oxygen burns the metal and blows the metal oxide, which is the product of combustion, out from the back of the material.

In CNC Plasma Cutting, compressed air is ionized with the right power source and turned into plasma and cutting is performed on conductive materials. Some elements are required in the plasma cutting process. These are: power supply, suitable type of torch and continuous constant compressed air. The biggest advantage of the plasma cutting process is that it can be applied to all conductive metals.

CNC Laser Cutting is a cutting technique in which stainless steel, aluminum and sheet metal materials are easily and quickly processed and shaped thanks to the CNC machine and laser optics. Laser cutting is a mass production technique. Because with the codes entered in CNC machines, laser cutting machines can process sheet metal quickly and perform many operations together in a series that human power cannot do.
